HCS HOT SHOTS

Who are the High Caliber Stables HOT SHOTS?
Our AWARD WINNING Youth Group!

Participating in our Youth Group provides a great opportunity for kids to learn more about horses and develop friendships. The Hot Shots meet about
eight to ten times a year on Saturday afternoons, and do all kinds of activities,
some educational and some just fun. Youth Club meetings are open to our
riders and their friends and siblings- feel free to bring extra kids!
(The Youth Club does not involve riding.) Sometimes we meet at the barn; sometimes we go on field trips.   Joining is easy!
We ask each guest to bring one dollar each time they attend to put towards the Club Treasury.
Meeting dates and times are posted at the barn a week or so before every meeting.  Email notices will also be sent.
If you would like additional information about joining, please let us know.

The High Caliber Hot Shots have been very busy during the 2010 show season. In April, the Hot Shots visited the Ronald McDonald House to bring wish list items and experience a tour of the house. In April, the Hot Shots also got together to make book marks that were sold to benefit Jenni’s Walk of Hope. The walk is held each year in honor of Jenni Hewitt, the aunt of Hot Shots Co-President, Drew Taylor Hewitt. Jenni lost her battle with melanoma and the Hewitt family started organizing an annual walk with all proceeds of the walk donated to the American Cancer Society. The Hot Shots raised over $375 for Jenni’s Walk this year and they presented a check to the Hewitt’s in June.

The Hot Shots visited Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center on June 19th. It was a wonderful event and a great way to learn about how horses can help people heal, both physically and emotionally.

After the trip to Riverwood, the Hot Shots set their sights on the ASHA auction at the World’s Championship Horse Show. Congratulations to the High Caliber Hot Shots for winning the award for the Best Equine Themed basket! Those who attended the auction were impressed with the creativity of the theme and the quality of the content of the basket! Thanks to all of the Hot Shots for their contributions. It represented the Hot Shots and the barn very well demonstrating the High Caliber’s focus on quality!

The Hot Shots will round out the year by decorating and donating a Christmas tree for the Festival of Trees, a fundraising event for Brenner’s Children’s Hospital and finishing their ASHA scrapbook.

The Hot Shots were established just last year and already their membership and participation has grown. It has been a wonderful year for the Hot Shots and they are excited for things to come.
